Lyle Tuttle SEMINAR #1
Started tattooing professionally in 1949 and he likes to says, “That tattoo machines are his daytime passion.”
He is well known for his innovative frame design, such as Start Struck, the Frisco Flyer, the 4X4 and Lyle Tuttle circle frame.
˜CERTIFICATE of COMPLETIONˇ (suitable for framing) is awarded for each seminar that will counts for advanced education credits
with most Health Departments. Each seminar is accompanied with a digital slide show and hands on workshop.
Bring your tattoo machines for identification, appraisal and repair.
I buy, sell and/or trade antique and unique tattoo machines for my collections.
SEMINAR #1 - The care, maintained and FINE TUNING of your tattoo machines should be, but second nature to you.
In this way you can apply 100% of your shop time to tattooing.
This is a complete study of all component parts of the tattoo machine and their interaction to one another.
Demonstrations and hands on work shop dealing with cutting springs; contact points; needle bars with bent eyes;
needles, choose of sizes and configuration for different tattooing effects; needles soldering.
Tips on how to find the raw materials that you’ll need to build, replace and maintain the equipment in your studio.
The basics of all good tattooing starts with your machine. .

Cast, fabricated or bent frames, even “frameless.” COILS;
How wire and core size effect the finished machine operation, outliner or shader?
Build you own coil winder from parts you could have stole from your mother.
Short cuts in building all the parts needed; the best raw materials and where to find them.
Learn the JOYS of building your own Tattoo Machines and accessories; power supplies,
tubes and needle bars, etc.,etc. everything needed in plying your trade. Know the real joys of self-sufficiency.

Throughout this period of instruction I will provide you with 101 specific fundamentals
and applications that have been overlooked and forgotten in your technique.
I will cover all aspects of our industry from machines, hardware and pigments to blending, texture and extreme color saturation.
This course is designed for two purposes.
For the novice artist it is extremely effective in helping to prevent future miscalculations and improper technique.
For the intermediate artist this course is perfect in helping to correct years of bad applications
and give an internal boost to lift you to the next echelon.

The paint portion focuses on “Working with Acrylics”. “Materials”, “Setting up a working color palette”, and “Brush technique”.
